Draft Internet Filtering Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights

Jan 23, 2015 10:53 AM

Colleagues,

The Intellectual Freedom Committee has prepared a new Internet Filtering Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights.  This is the first draft shared outside of the committee.  Suggestions are most welcome.  We will continue to work on it through Midwinter with the goal of bringing it to Council at Annual for approval.

Best wishes,

Doug Archer

ALA IFC Chair

This interpretation seems to focus on public libraries. Could this interpretation include points to assist school librarians, most who have no say in the implementation of filters, as they work with their administrators and IT departments?
