Bio

Since being a full-time Whovian doesn’t pay the bills, I work as the Head of Reference and Teen Services at the Bellmore Memorial Library (Long Island, NY). There, among other things, I get to curate the adult and teen graphic novel collections, and runs fandom programs for all ages. Love my job! I am the Vice President/President Elect of the Nassau County Library Association, as well as Co-Chair of the organization’s Pop Culture Committee (which works to teach library professionals about the importance of pop culture in libraries). I have previously served as President of the New York Library Associant Pop Culture Round Table. Professional high point? The honor of having my proposal win the 2015 American Library Association Will Eisner Graphic Novel Innovation Grant for Libraries winner. Since then, I've served as a juror for the ALA Will Eisner Graphic Growth Grant for Libraries. Currently, I am a member of the  ALA Stonewall Award / Barbara Gittings Award for Literature. Outside of Libraryland, I collect queer comics, cosplay couples from Doctor Who (with my equally geeky girlfriend), and write for various pop culture blogs.
