The mission of the Library Support Staff Interests Round Table (LSSIRT) is to provide an arena within ALA for addressing a wide variety of issues of concern to library support staff, including but not limited to basic training programs, education, career development, job duties and responsibilities and other related issues for the purpose of fostering communication and networking among all levels of library personnel. To be responsible for the timely dissemination of information to local, regional, state and national support staff organizations.

On behalf of the Intellectual Freedom Committee Chair Ray James and Committee on Professional Ethics Chair Julia Warga, I am sharing the attached request for feedback. In anticipation of a new edition of The Intellectual Freedom Manual, the committees are in the process of reviewing and updating all intellectual freedom-related documents as needed.
This request is for the seventh feedback round concerning the revised Library Bill of Rights Interpretations. Both your division and member feedback are important to the process, and we value your time. The IFC would appreciate feedback from the Core Board and that you share the request with your members. The IFC is also seeking feedback from the ALA Executive Board, Council Committees, Round Tables, and the National Association of Librarians of Color leaders. Feedback will be incorporated into final draft Interpretations which will be presented to ALA Council.
Details about the feedback process are outlined in the attached memo and the links to the relevant documents are included there. Feedback is requested by 5:00 pm Central Time on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
