The mission of the International Relations Round Table is to promote interest in library issues and librarianship worldwide; to help coordinate international activities within ALA, serving as a liaison between the International Relations Committee and those members of the Association interested in international relations; to develop programs and activities which further the international objectives of ALA; and to provide hospitality and information to visitors from abroad.

    Hello all!

    The Student Chapter of ALA's International Relations Round Table (SCIRRT) at Simmons University is please to extend an invitation to our first virtual event of the semester to IRRT members, especially students!

    Mark Mattson, IRRT's Chair Elect and the head of the Global Engagement Initiatives and International Partnerships Librarian at Penn State, will be giving a presentation:  "Opportunities for International Librarianship in Academic Library Work." In this presentation, Mark Mattson will detail opportunities for librarians to engage in international work and partnerships within the higher education context. He will provide some tips on advocating for this work, networking within the international librarianship community, and ways to prepare for library roles with a global component. This event will take place Friday, February 3 at 12 PM EST. Please email me at schuldta@simmons.edu to register!
