ALA's International Relations Round Table Webinar Committee invites you to join us for
our next webinar: "Building Resilient Ecosystems for School Library Services for Improved
Literacy in Vietnam, Cambodia and New Zealand"
The Global Education Evidence Advisory Panel (GEEAP) 2023 Report on cost-effective
approaches to improve global learning concludes that libraries are "bad buys" when "other
issues are not addressed." What are the "other issues?" What factors are missing from the
research study about libraries that informed GEEAP's report? This webinar highlights multiple
factors that contribute to the proven benefits of school libraries for learning and literacy.
Globally, an estimated 617 million (United Nations) children and adolescents are not achieving
reading proficiency. Becoming literate is complex. School libraries play a crucial role in enabling
all students to become readers, thinkers, and responsible users, evaluators and creators of
ideas, information and knowledge. This webinar highlights how resilient ecosystems of libraries
are being supported in Vietnam, Cambodia and New Zealand.
