    Dear IRRT Members,

The International Relations Round Table is seeking two volunteer Social Media Editors to join our communications leadership team.

This is an opportunity for two members who are interested in international librarianship, advocacy, and community engagement to help amplify IRRT's work and voice.

    Role overview
The Social Media Editors support IRRT by:

    • Managing and posting content to IRRT's social media channels

    • Promoting IRRT programs, events, initiatives, and member achievements

    • Coordinating with IRRT leadership, committees, and interest groups to share timely updates

    • Helping strengthen IRRT's visibility and engagement within ALA and the broader international library community

The two editors will work collaboratively and may divide responsibilities by platform, content type, or schedule.

    Committee service
The Social Media Editors are members of the IRRT Communications and Publications Steering Committee, which meets once per month. Participation in these meetings helps ensure alignment across IRRT communications and provides an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues working on publications, outreach, and messaging.

    Time commitment
The time commitment is modest and flexible, averaging a few hours per month, with occasional increases around major events or conferences.

This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys concise communication, storytelling, and connecting people to opportunities. Prior experience with social media strategy is helpful but not required; enthusiasm, reliability, and interest in IRRT's mission are key.

If you are interested-or would like to self-nominate-please contact Whitney Bevill bevillwl@appstate.edu by March 2, 2026 with a brief statement of interest.

We encourage members at all career stages to consider volunteering. Serving in this role is a great way to contribute to IRRT's work while gaining leadership and committee experience within ALA.
