Dear IRRT Members,
IRRT recently successfully updated our Rules (previously called Bylaws) in anticipation of the mandated changes from ALA through the Round Table Coordinating Assembly (RTCA). Since the last ballot, the RTCA Rules Template has been officially approved by ALA. While our new Rules already conform to the template, there are a couple of small updates that need to be made in order to comply with the updated template that ALA approved. Additionally, now that we are in our new IRRT structure, we also need to add language into the Rules that include the Chair of the Publications and Communications Steering Committee as a non-voting, ex-officio member of the Executive Committee.
You will find the proposed changes to the Rules in red in the attached document. These changes require approval of the membership and will be added to the Spring ballot as a ballot measure.
