Description
Join librarians from around the world for an informal chat about Sister Libraries programming and partnerships. Participants will be able to share their own experiences, ask questions, and connect with other librarians.
Our chat will open in conversation with Olga Casey, Janet Lee, Deborah Margolis, Tamara Pianos, and Jeffrey Rosenberg, and be moderated by Diana Price and Cornelia Thoma.
Speaker Bios:
Olga Casey was born and raised in Odesa. Since 2008, she has worked at the Troy University Library which has strong ties with the Central Ukrainian State University Library (www.cuspu.edu.ua/en) and has also been helping Donetsk National Medical University (https://www.dnmu.com.ua/). This past year, Troy Library started to maintain a friendship with the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs (dnuvs.in.ua/about-us), which was evacuated from Mariupol to Kropyvnytsky in 2022.
Janet Lee, Dean Emerita, Regis University (Denver, CO), is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Ethiopia, and co-chair of the Denver Sister Cities/Axum (Ethiopia) committee.
Deborah J. Margolis is Middle East Studies Librarian at Michigan State University Libraries (MSUL). MSUL began its virtual "Global Librarian Exchange Program" in Spring 2021 and is continuing with a sister libraries virtual exchange in Spring 2023.
Tamara Pianos started working for ZBW - Leibniz Information Centre for Economics in 2005 and is the head of information provision and access at the ZBW in Kiel. She is responsible for the product management of the portal EconBiz including managing the international partner network.
Jeffrey Rosenberg, currently with the Miami-Dade Public Library System, has 17 years in library administration. Jeffrey loves international travel and will visit every library in each city, time permitting, and occasionally has had the opportunity to go behind the scenes.

Diana Price is the Central Library Manager at Alexandria Library in Alexandria, Virginia and co-chair of the IRRT Sister Libraries Committee.
Cornelia Thoma is the Secondary School Librarian at the International School of Boston since August 2019.
