The mission of the International Relations Round Table is to promote interest in library issues and librarianship worldwide; to help coordinate international activities within ALA, serving as a liaison between the International Relations Committee and those members of the Association interested in international relations; to develop programs and activities which further the international objectives of ALA; and to provide hospitality and information to visitors from abroad.

    I just wanted to share these opportunities with you from Stanford Global Studies-it is the last chance to apply. Due dates for the fellowship programs are due April 21, 2023.

    Please note that the "faculty" fellowship also applies to academic librarians or library classified professionals, whether or not they are classified as faculty.

    Opportunities for Faculty and Staff

    The Stanford Education Partnership for Internationalizing Curriculum (EPIC) Faculty Fellowship Program brings together a cohort of ten community college faculty and academic staff to work on projects aimed at developing global competencies and awareness amongst community college students. 

    • Visit the beautiful Stanford campus twice to attend a three-day workshop in August and come back to present your project outcomes at an end-of-the-year symposium in May (workshop and symposium may be held remotely depending on the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic).
    • No cost to participate in the fellowship. Meals and lodging will be provided for the summer workshop and end-of-the-year symposium, as well as travel expenses up to $500 for each event.
    • Participate in monthly virtual seminars with your cohort and Stanford faculty and staff.
    • Develop materials and programs to implement in your classrooms and bring back to your home campuses.
    • Join a growing network of EPIC alumni who are developing innovative programs to internationalize curricula. This program is partially funded by U.S. Department of Education  Title VI grants.

    Open to all community college faculty and academic staff. The fellowship period is August 2023 – May 2024. 

    The Stanford Education Partnership for Internationalizing Curriculum (EPIC) Leadership Program brings together a cohort of mid- and senior-level administrators from community colleges and MSIs across the United States to participate in leadership training and design programs at their home institutions to support global education.  

    • Visit the beautiful Stanford campus twice to attend a three-day leadership institute in August and come back to present your project outcomes at an end-of-the-year symposium in May (workshop and symposium may be held remotely depending on the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic).
    • No cost to participate in the leadership program. Meals and lodging will be provided for the summer leadership institute and end-of-the-year symposium, as well as travel expenses up to $500 for each event. 
    • Participate in three quarterly virtual seminars that combine leadership training with presentations by leading Stanford faculty on timely topics in international education.
    • Develop and implement a plan for institutionalizing international education on your home campus.
    • Join a professional community of leaders dedicated to promoting international education.

    Open to all mid- and senior-level administrators at community colleges and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) in the United States. The fellowship period is August 2023 – May 2024.
