2026 ALA Annual Conference - Chicago, June 25-29, 2026
Greetings!
The International Relations Round Table's International Papers and Projects Committee is seeking proposals for its 2026 ALA Annual Conference session, "One World, Many Libraries: Global Visions for A.I. and Future-Forward Technologies."
This program is a one-hour panel discussion featuring librarians engaged in global research projects, programming, and training on artificial intelligence (A.I.) and emerging technologies. The panelists will examine how these tools are reshaping library services, while sharing their efforts to develop ethical and effective best practices for libraries and information organizations worldwide.
We are especially interested in proposals on:

Collection Development and Analysis Tools

Ethics and Legal Issues

Integration into Library Services

Machine Learning and Language Models

Misinformation and Bias

Research and Learning

Technical Services and Cataloging
Panelists will each have 10 minutes to share their stories. There will be time at the end of the panel discussion for questions and comments from the audience.
Proposals should be between 250 and 300 words; and include your name, email address, institution/affiliation, job title, and a 3–4-line biography. Proposals should be submitted via the proposal form .
Proposal Deadline: Monday, February 16, 2026
Notification of Acceptance: March 9, 2026
