    Posted Aug 25, 2025 08:19 PM

    IRRT colleagues,

Audrey Chapuis has announced her new position after serving for 10 years at the American Library in Paris.  The announcement is below.  The ALP was founded by ALA and continues to have strong ties to ALA.  I am the current ALA liaison to the ALP.  Thank you!

    Dear friends,

With both pride and a touch of bittersweetness, we share news about the Library's leadership. After more than a decade of dedicated service to the American Library in Paris, including seven years as Executive Director, Audrey Chapuis will conclude her tenure on 22 November 2025. In early December, she will begin a new chapter as President and CEO of the Tampa Bay History Center in Florida.

During her time at the Library, Audrey has guided the institution through remarkable growth. She has nurtured our programs, welcomed new readers and thinkers into the fold, and ensured the Library remains a place where people of all ages can connect, learn, and be inspired. Her vision and care have left a lasting imprint that will continue to shape the Library's story for years to come.

"Working alongside this remarkable team and community has been the privilege of my professional life," said Chapuis. "The Library is in a moment of extraordinary momentum-buoyed by Vision 2027, energized by an exceptional staff and Board, and deeply rooted in its mission. I'm excited to watch its next chapter unfold."

Jill Le Grand, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said:
"Under Audrey's leadership and management, the Library has grown in reach, impact, and ambition. We have enduring mission clarity, a strong Board, a highly capable internal senior team-Abigail Altman, Nathalie Cousin, and Maisie Fieschi-who keep our momentum high every day, and a strong, dedicated and talented staff who energize the Library community. The Board has complete confidence in the institution's future and direction."

An interim leadership plan will take effect on 1 December 2025, and the Board's Nominating Committee will share an update on the search for the next Executive Director this fall.

As the Library turns to the future, we are especially excited about the upcoming season. Ways of Seeing will return this fall with a new lineup of extraordinary voices, and our calendar is quickly filling with engaging programs for all ages. We hope to see you at the Library soon.

    With gratitude,

    Jill Le Grand
    Chair, Board of Trustees

    Audrey Chapuis
    Executive Director
