  • 1.  ALA accreditation's requirements for international professionals

    Hi,

I obtained my master's and doctorate from an Egyptian university.

How can I equate my degree to be accredited from ALA? or even study a specific number of credit hours to obtain the accreditation? or should I enroll in an accredited school and start from the beginning?

    Thanks

    Hi Safinaz,

Have you explored an international credential evaluation organization? If not, this website would be a good first step:  https://www.naces.org/

When I moved to the US, I went through an evaluation process like this for my UK degrees. This service is not free but much less costly than starting over.

    All the best,
    Karen

    Greetings,

I undertook all my three degrees in Library and Information Sciences from Kenya. I went through one of the organizations from the list provided below https://www.naces.org/. You can give it a try.

    Thank you.
