Accepting Sponsors for the ALA Emerging Leaders Program

The ALA Emerging Leaders program has begun the process of preparing for the next class of participants (2023). We are now accepting sponsors. Sponsorship means that an organization will provide financial support of at least $1,000 (divided between both ALA conferences) for each Emerging Leader chosen as its participant. Sponsorship for this cohort begins October 2022 and ends July 2023.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, this year's process has been delayed. Therefore, we ask that you please complete the form ASAP, but no later than Friday, July 22, 2022.
The American Library Association (ALA) Emerging Leaders (EL) program is a leadership development program that enables newer library workers from across the country to participate in problem-solving work groups, network with peers, gain an inside look into ALA structure and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity. It puts participants on the fast track to ALA committee volunteerism as well as other professional library-related organizations.
Any ALA division (and its sections), office, round table, affiliate, or library-related state association may sponsor Emerging Leaders. Individuals may also anonymously sponsor Emerging Leaders.
Anyone interested in sponsoring an Emerging Leader should submit the online Intent to Sponsor form no later than July 22, 2022.
