Endorse resolution to honor African-Americans who fought library segregation?

I have received a resolution from Sara Dallas, member of ALA council, honoring African-Americans who fought library segregation in the civil rights era. The full resolution is attached. GLBTRT, small roundtables, and RUSA have already endorsed this resolution. To endorse it would mean we publicly include GAMERT in the proceedings and I add my name to the document. Would we like to endorse this?

Yes. Perhaps we can also recommend a resolution to conduct specific planning and programs at the local level for closing the representation gap across the profession. I see a lot of “we need to” discussion and advocacy, but not enough “here’s how we’re going to” messaging.
