It's time to prepare your ACRL volunteer applications!

Are you interested in #RBMS, but don't know where to start? Do you want to add service to a vibrant community of rare and distinctive collection professionals to your resume? Do you know who the leadership in RBMS is, or are you interested to meet them and ask questions?

Come to Get Involved with RBMS, on Wednesday, 12 January!

Meet RBMS Committee and Task Force Chairs, and get the inside scoop on what we do, and how you can help the Section improve and better serve our membership.

This event is brought to you by the RBMS Membership and Professional Development (M&PD) Committee, as part of that Committee's charge, and by popular demand! The 2021 session had over 100 attendees.

ALA ACRL volunteer applications are due February 15, 2022.

ACRL Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates must be current members in good standing of ALA and ACRL, and must remain so for the duration of their appointment. Candidates cannot serve on any committee or section for more than 5 consecutive years.
  • Candidates must not hold more than 3 concurrent appointments within ALA or ACRL at any one time.
  • If a candidate with 3 existing appointments wishes to take up additional appointments, they must resign from one of their current appointments.

Questions about section appointments may be directed to the vice-chair of each section. Full contact information is available from the section landing page.

Hello!
If you have not already done so, we recommend you add ACRL/RBMS to your Groups/Communities in ALA Connect! This is the best way to get information about ACRL Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (RBMS).

Hope this is helpful!
