September 2022 OCLC Virtual AskQC Office Hours Invitation
Perhaps you've seen that button reading "I'm a cataloger. What's your superpower?" But catalogers aren't joking. For the past fifty years, OCLC has steadily expanded the ability of member institutions to edit WorldCat bibliographic records. Now, anyone with a full-level or higher authorization or account role can make improvements to the vast majority of WorldCat records. As everyone knows, however, "With great power comes great responsibility."
Join us in September 2022 when Megan Johnson and Jay Weitz review the great power that the OCLC Expert Community gives to catalogers and how you can wield it both confidently and responsibly.
The Virtual AskQC Office Hours session "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility: Editing Bibliographic Records" will be presented live twice to accommodate a wide swath of time zones: First on Tuesday, September 13, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, and a second time on Thursday, September 22, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Please note that each of these times is Eastern Time in the United States. Please adjust for your own time zone.
Following each presentation, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the VAOH topic or about any other WorldCat quality matter that comes to mind.
Topic and registration information is available for these two September 2022 VAOH presentations and also for the two remaining 2022 Office Hours. On the Previous AskQC Office Hours page, you may also access the recordings, slides, and Q&A from past VAOH presentations. If you register, you will receive an email reminder before your chosen session along with a link to the WebEx event. All Virtual AskQC Office Hours are available from OCLC at no charge.
Everyone is welcome.
Please excuse any duplication of this message.
