Greetings to the collective wisdom of RDA-L,
I over 30 years, I've never encountered this before.
I have a 1972 facsimile edition of Pen Pictures of Early Pioneer Life
in Upper Canada. I know from my 2013 RDA printouts to use the
facsimile edition and publication information, but couldn't find any
guidance on this problem.
No author is give on the title page, which reads:
Pen Pictures of
Early Pioneer Life in
Upper Canada
by
A "Canuck"
(Of the fifth generation)
Profusely illustrated
Toronto
William Briggs
1905
On the verso of the dedication page is the note:
Entered according to Act of the Parliament of Canada, in the year one
thousand nine hundred and five, by Michael Gonder Scherck, at the
Department of Agriculture.
Based on this note, and the fact that a 2004 edition clearly
identifies the author as Michael Gonder Scherck, should I give him due
credit in 100a, perhaps with a 500 or 588 note?
Thank you,
Nancy Braman
