The University of Missouri Libraries (MU Libraries) invites applications for the full-time, NTT Librarian position of Continuing Resources Cataloger. This librarian provides access to library continuing resources through descriptive metadata, subject analysis, and classification by performing original and copy cataloging; maintains current holdings of monographic series and serials; and participates in planning, including developing unit, departmental, and project goals, priorities, and procedures at a departmental, library, and UM System level.
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform original and copy cataloging of print and electronic continuing resources for the University Libraries, following approved standards and procedures including RDA, LC-PCC, and CONSER Guidelines. This process includes modifying bibliographic, item, order, and holdings records.
- Perform serial record maintenance for print materials by updating bibliographic records when serials cease, titles or frequencies change, holdings change, and or other modifications to serials to ensure accurate description.
- Participate in planning, including developing unit, departmental, and project goals, priorities, and procedures at a departmental, library, and UM System level.
- Maintains accurate serials holdings for the libraries and oversees print retention projects.
- Maintains series authority records and makes decisions regarding description and classification of monographic series.
- Other duties as assigned.
