IFLA Bibliography Section Survey on Accessibility Metadata
** Apologies for cross posting **
Dear Colleagues,
The IFLA Bibliography Section is conducting a survey to gather insights into how national libraries and bibliographic services are navigating the challenges of accessibility metadata and availability of accessible formats. This survey is part of our efforts to improve accessibility in bibliographic control and resource discovery for users with disabilities or special needs.
Whether you are a National Library, a National Bibliographic Agency, or an institution operating a union catalogue or a shared cataloguing utility, we invite you to participate in this survey that focuses on accessibility metadata and accessibly of the national catalogue or national bibliography. We seek responses from all these agencies and institutions-whether or not accessibility metadata is currently integrated into your operations.
Why Participate?
Accessibility metadata empowers users with disabilities to identify resources suited to their needs. With developments such as the European Accessibility Act, it is more important than ever to improve access for all users. This survey aims to explore the current state of accessibility metadata in national bibliographies and national and shared catalogues, and to identify challenges and opportunities for improvement. Your input will be instrumental in shaping future guidance and support in this critical area.
