    Hi again, friends!

Seriously as soon as you see this email, stop and take the three minutes it takes to send a message through the blue ALA advocacy buttons below. Then take a few minutes to send a personal email -- or freak them out and call your congresscritter's local office *and ask them* to please call the DC office to share your support for libraries and how important it is to you that your Senators and Representatives sign on to these appropriations letters.

Thank you for all your efforts to support libraries and federal library funding (and the local / state level efforts you do, too!)

We need more congressional support to ensure library funding

    Hi Aaron!

This is Kevin from ALA, with some good news and bad news. The good news is that our campaign for library funding is picking up momentum - over 3000 library advocates have taken action and dozens of Reps and Senators have signed on.

The bad news is, we have a new deadline to get support in the House - and it's just a couple days away. This coming Monday is our last chance to get our Reps to sign the Dear Appropriator letters in support of library funding. So if you haven't yet, please click here now to add your voice:

This is quite a tight deadline - I haven't seen Congress move this quickly since heading to the TV cameras after the State of the Union. But that's why it's all the more important that we mobilize over this weekend and early next week to secure crucial support for our funding priorities.

So please, if you can, write to your members, share this action with your community, and stay tuned for future updates.

Thank you for everything you do for libraries!

    Hello Aaron!

Each year, the library community makes our voice heard for crucial federal funding - which congressmembers can support by signing on to Dear Appropriator letters. This process is now in full swing, and we have a deadline: members must sign on by May 10th! Our signatures are lagging behind what they were last year, so we need all library advocates engaged.

Now is the time to bring your members of Congress on board. Click below to take action, then share to bring your community into the library movement:

We are requesting funding of at least $232 for  the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and $50 million for Innovative Approaches to Literacy (IAL). Learn more about the campaign – and find tools to share this action – at ALA's #FundLibraries homepage.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be sharing the stories of libraries nationwide that rely on LSTA and IAL to serve their patrons. Please help us share and highlight these stories to help all our communities understand the urgency behind funding libraries.

Now stand with libraries, library workers, and the communities they serve: take action to #FundLibraries!

Thank you for all you do for libraries!
