Great news from PPA!
Hi everyone,
Very good news! The FCC voted today to approve the Order that would make Wi-Fi hotspots an eligible service for E-rate. Wi-Fi hotspots and the service will be added to the FY25 eligible services list. Favorable program rules for libraries are thanks to our library advocates who shared stories and data about hotspot lending and attended meetings with the FCC to discuss the item. Great work.

In 1996, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) established the Schools and Libraries Program (also known as the E-rate program) as part of its Universal Service Fund. This federal initiative provides discounts to public libraries and to public and private K-12 schools on telecommunications services, internet access, and some closely related costs, such as inside wiring. |
