thanks for the explanation and advice. It makes good sense.
I will read over this some more within RDA toolkit, and make updates to some volumes I have already catalogued.

Subject: Facsimile Bound-with titles - best cataloguing process?
Hi Louise
In terms of official RDA, the meaning of "bound-with" is now restricted to the context of a collection.
I think the best approach for each of your volumes is to use the "facsimile part" elements.
Each of the facsimiles is made a "discrete component" of the volume because it is embodied in a specific set of pages marked by the original title page:
Volume (manifestation) has facsimile part "... Hf. 36".
Volume (manifestation) has facsimile part "... Hf. 37".
Volume (manifestation) has facsimile part "... Hf. 38".
Staying at the level of manifestation, each volume is also part of the series manifestation:
Volume (manifestation) is part of manifestation "Kraus Reprint ...".
Moving to Work and Expression, each volume is a collection aggregate that embodies the same content as the original publications combined. Each of the aggregated expressions can be found in its original publication and in the later aggregation, and at a broader level, in the reprint series as a whole.
Volume (manifestation) has expression manifested "Hf. 36 ...".
Volume (manifestation) has expression manifested "Hf. 37 ...".
Volume (manifestation) has expression manifested "Hf. 38 ...".
Orginal volume (manifestation) has expression manifested "Hf. 36 ...".
Series set (manifestation) has expression manifested "Hf. 36 ...".
Please note that "Hf. 36 ..." is an access point for an expression/work, while "... Hf. 36) is an access point for a manifestation.

Subject: Facsimile Bound-with titles - best cataloguing process?
Hello,
I am cataloguing some older Kraus Reprint titles, most are "bound-with" volumes e.g. PN35. L6 HF. 36-38 (Heft/Volume) containing 3-4 separate titles with their own authors, title pages (original title page and new "reprint" title page) and dates. We are using the same call number based on the first title, for all titles within the volume.
Since these are 'reprints' of previous editions (e.g. 1977 Kraus reprint of the 1912 edition) and each of the separate titles (within the volume) appears visually to be a facsimile, do these qualify as true facsimiles, even if they are part of a multi title "bound" volume? What would be the best way to interpret these as a format, and therefore, catalogue them correctly? It's tricky to know which policy of cataloguing applies when they consist of several issues "Bound-with" type volumes, and facsimiles in term of appearance.
thanks
Louise
