    *With apologies for cross-posting*

The Core Bibliographic Conceptual Models Interest Group (BCMIG) invites proposals for its next meeting, to take place via Zoom in September or October 2024. BCMIG facilitates conversations about conceptual models that provide a foundation for cataloging, metadata standards, and linked data applications, addressing both theoretical and practical aspects.

The theme of the next BCMIG meeting will be conceptual modeling and digital collections. We welcome proposals for 20-minute presentations on topics including, but not limited to:

    • Data modeling and application profiles for digital collections

    • Metadata models for particular types of materials in digital collections, such as archival materials, audiovisual materials, oral histories, etc.

    • Decisions on mixing and matching concepts and relationships from multiple ontologies, registries, or systems

    • Data models and system constraints in digital repository platforms

The session will be virtual and registration is free. ALA Core membership is not required to present or attend.

To submit a proposal, please provide your name and contact information, as well as a session title and description and other optional information via this online form. Proposals submitted by August 12, 2024 will be given priority for selection.

We look forward to hearing from you!
