    Dear Council,

    Thank you all for your excellent questions and patience as the Executive Board, in consultation with our parliamentarian and Bylaws Committee Chair, developed an FAQ of the events, rules, and reasoning that led to the appointment of two individuals for two-year terms to fill two newly created vacancies on the ALA Executive Board. The FAQ is hot off the presses and attached. This document will also be part of our Council Documents and will receive an official number.

    We have this item for discussion under "New Business" at Council I on Saturday, June 24th and will welcome additional questions and clarifications on the process.

    As I shared in my last email, there is quite a bit of nuance in this unsual circumstance of filling two newly created vacancies (versus filling a seat that became vacant due to an elected individual stepping down) and back and forth email may become weighty and difficult to follow, so I encourage us to share and gather questions that we can answer together in Council which may not be addressed in the FAQ.
