Binghamton University Libraries seeks enthusiastic candidates for the role of Catalog/Metadata Management Librarian to support the Binghamton University community by providing bibliographic access and control through both metadata and traditional cataloging. The incumbent serves as a member of the dynamic team responsible for providing original, adjusted and copy cataloging and bibliographic control for a wide range of print and non-print materials in various formats. A demonstrated ability to apply RDA, Library of Congress Subject Headings, and MARC21 formats for bibliographic and authority records is required; experience with at least one non-MARC metadata schema such as Dublin Core is also needed. This role will also focus on database maintenance and the exploration and implementation of linked data, and will grow to include project management and training of other staff as required. Familiarity with tools such as MarcEdit, OpenRefine, and Ex Libris products is preferred. A strong commitment to patron service and access is essential.
