Jessica Bennett, ACRL Distance and Online Learning Section Chair, shared in a post in ACRL DOLS Connect about the passing of Joseph John Harzbecker Jr., a long time member of ALA, ACRL, Medical Library Association and more. "It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Joseph Harzbecker. Joe was an enthusiastic and dedicated member of the DOLS community, serving as co-chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and member of the Research & Publications Committee. We're grateful to have worked with Joe and for his contributions to supporting online and distance librarianship. I wanted to share that I have drafted an ALA memorial resolution honoring Joseph Harzbeker Jr., and the DOLS Executive Board is currently reviewing it now.
My thanks to Jessica Bennett and DOLS Executive Board for currently reviewing it and the Medical Library Association Executive Board along with Joe's colleagues at the Boston University Alumni Medical Library for having reviewed it, and the ACRL Councilor Kara Whatley for seconding it.
