ALA Council

Hello Councilors,

Thank you all for the thoughtful discussions at the March 10 Virtual Council Meeting. With the passage of ALA CD #35b Part C, Revised,  the Transforming ALA Governance Task Force was directed by Council to arrange virtual Council discussions in March, April, and May regarding TAG Task Force recommendations. 

Our first meeting  will be on Wednesday, Mar 30, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. CT. Our focus will be on the size and composition of both the Council and the Executive Board. The current recommendations of TAG are attached to this email. We will use the feedback from this meeting to draft resolutions for Council's consideration.

Wednesday, Apr 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. CT to discuss TAP (Taking the ALA Pulse) and Oversight

Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. CT to look at the effectiveness of Council. Are there ways that we can start making changes as individuals to make Council more effective, inclusive, and responsive now?

Separate registration links will be sent out for the April and May discussions.

If you are unable to attend the meetings as scheduled, the TAG Task Force hopes you will contact us with your ideas on the above matters. We are looking forward to continuing the work!
