  • 1.  WorldCat Validation Release Notes, May 2022

    Posted May 13, 2022 10:11 AM

On May 26, 2022, OCLC expects to install changes to WorldCat Validation, including the following new features and enhancements:

      • OCLC-MARC Validations of New MARC Codes Announced February-April 2022

The following bug fix will also be included:

      • Correction of Validation for Bibliographic and Authority Fields 043

These enhancements and fixes are the result of announcements of new MARC elements and codes by the Library of Congress as well as feedback and requests from members of the OCLC cooperative.

Please note the reminder not to use the Description Convention Source Code "pccrda" until the Program for Cooperative Cataloging has both implemented the Official RDA Toolkit and issued guidelines for use of the code.

See the WorldCat Validation Release Notes, May 2022 at for more details of the changes that we hope to install on May 26, 2022.

Please forgive any duplication of this message.

    Stay well.
