  • 1.  Theoretical framework to contextualize analysis

    Posted 20 days ago

    Hello,

My team recently received suggested revisions for a systematic review manuscript in education. Two reviewers suggested including a theoretical framework to contextualize the findings and operationalize key concepts. I've looked at a handful of SRs in the journal and theoretical or conceptual frameworks were not included. How common are theoretical frameworks in SRs? Are the characteristic of education SRs? This is my first SR, learning lots from the process and my amazing team.

    Thanks for your thoughts,

There is a qualitative model in the new Cochrane-Campbell Handbook for Framework Synthesis (https://www.cochrane.org/authors/handbooks-and-manuals/cochrane-campbell-handbook-qualitative-evidence-synthesis) which sounds like it might apply.
