    **Apologies for cross posting**

Are you an emerging or mid-career professional and feel that your perspectives are underrepresented in scholarly communications? Are you eager for new opportunities to learn, network, and help explore solutions to the challenges facing the community? If your answer to these questions is yes, then we invite you to apply for a 2026 NISO Plus Scholarship Award!

Now in its seventh year, the NISO Plus Scholarship program provides opportunities for professionals from diverse backgrounds to actively participate in shaping the information ecosystem. Candidates working across the information ecosystem-librarians, publishers, service and tech providers, and more-are encouraged to submit their applications.

Awardees will receive the following benefits:

    • Access to all virtual NISO Plus programming throughout the year, including free registration for the NISO Plus Global/Online conference, to be held September 2026

    • Networking opportunities with NISO board members, staff, and past and present scholarship recipients

    • Free registration for all NISO educational webinars in 2025–27

    • Discounted registration fees for other NISO events

    • Opportunities to volunteer for NISO committees and working groups and to engage in the development of NISO standards

    • Automatic enrollment in NISO I/O and standards program announcements

    • And more!

Recipients will be recognized in the NISO Plus blog and in our monthly newsletter, Information/Online. In addition, up to three applicants will receive funding for travel and accommodations for the February 2026 annual conference in Baltimore, MD

To apply, please complete this short application form and tell us why you're interested in becoming a NISO Plus scholar. (And if you don't wish to apply yourself but have a friend or colleague who should, please share the call!)

Applications will close on November 24, 2025, and will be reviewed by the NISO Plus Scholarships Committee, which includes previous scholarship awardees and established members of the scholarly communications community, alongside NISO staff and board members. Notifications will be sent by December 19, 2025. (Please note that previous awardees will not be eligible for reconsideration.)

    Best wishes,

    The NISO Team
