I'm working on my tenure application and wondering if any other Access Services librarians have tenure and if so, what advice would you have for me? I feel like because our job is very distinct from the typical reference librarian that it's harder to make the case for tenure. Not because we don't deserve it,
we do!!! But our job includes so many areas of librarianship that not even our own colleagues really understand all that we do. I'm thinking that providing a lot of background information about Access Services librarianship may be the way to go. 'A Framework for Access Services Librarianship: An Initiative Sponsored by the Association of College and Research Libraries' Access Services Interest Group' is really helping! Help!
