Charge: To support current and former residents to network, share their expertise, gain national leadership and service experience, and prepare for transitioning to post-residency positions through: a) advancing resident education and residents’ professional success through inter-collegiate collaboration; b) creating programming and resources that center residents; c) advocating for current residents through a liaison relationship with the ACRL Diversity Alliance; d) providing opportunities to engage in research on residencies; and e) centralizing information regarding program availability.

    Greetings,

    Recent weeks and months have brought shifts to the pursuit of research across the United States, including funding freezes and budget cuts, executive orders regarding DEIA (and its variants) and other justice-related topics (e.g., environmental justice), restrictions, and preferential treatment based on specific terminology/language within research projects and proposals, and more.* 

    This survey aims to gather the perspectives of academic librarians and LIS-program faculty (in the US and it's territories) about the implications of these shifts (and executive orders, etc.) on research initiatives and, more broadly, topics associated with academic and intellectual freedom within academia. 

    I invite you to complete the online survey, available at the web address below. Initial testing suggests that participants will complete the survey in about 15 minutes depending mainly on the nature of their qualitative input. To access the survey, please use this link:
