Study Volunteer - Exploring Restriction Policies in Special Collections

    Hello,

My name is Amanda Ferrara and I'm working with Valencia L. Johnson on an article regarding access and restriction policies at nationally-based university archives and special collections.

Valencia and I are writing today to request your assistance. This multi-article project will be an assessment of the access restrictions at a sampling of repositories in order to capture the current state of our field's standing, later positioning that in conversation with a historical review of past decision making. Ultimately, we are interested in circulating the variety of viewpoints and reasonings that access policies represent.

Attached to this email is an informational sheet, but Valencia and I welcome any questions that may arise in relation to, or beyond, the content included on the sheet. If you are willing to participate, please reply by October 18 to the following email address: SCAccessRestrictionsSurvey@gmail.com.

If you do not wish to participate but have suggestions about colleagues who you think would be able to contribute to the project, please email us or forward this email to them.

We sincerely appreciate any assistance you can provide and we look forward to working with you in the near future.

    Best regards,

Amanda Ferrara & Valencia L. Johnson
