The Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) invites nominations for the Academic/Research Librarian of the Year Award, recognizing an outstanding member of the library profession who has made a significant national or international contribution to academic or research librarianship and library development.
Award Criteria
Nominees should demonstrate excellence in at least one of the following areas. Strong nominations often reflect multiple areas of achievement and a sustained record of influence. This rubric will be used to review nominations:

Professional Service: Demonstrated record of professional service with increasing leadership roles within ACRL and/or related professional organizations

Scholarship: Scholarship and/or theoretical writing that has significantly influenced and advanced the discipline and practice of academic/research librarianship

Outreach and Engagement: Advances and innovations in library outreach and engagement with campus and/or community stakeholders, leading to measurable improvements in access, visibility, or collaboration

Mentorship: A substantial record of mentoring others at various levels-including but not limited to librarians, students, and early-career professionals

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB): Implementation of initiatives and practices that promote equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging within the profession
