Are you new to Second Life (SL)? Or has it been a while since you last assumed your avatar’s skin?
Consider brushing up on your essential skills by attending an orientation session for ALA’s upcoming virtual worlds and libraries online conference, The Future is Now: Libraries and Museums in Virtual Worlds, to be held March 5th through 6th, 2010.
Make sure you can sit and listen during sessions that are important to you. Brush up on your communication skills, both written and verbal. Relearn the basics of maneuvering around in Second Life.
Orientation sessions will be held on:
- Tuesday March 2nd from 5-6 PM SLT/PST;
- Wednesday, March 3rd from 1-2 PM SLT/PST;
- Thursday March 4th from 6-7 PM SLT/PST;
- Friday March 5th from 8-9 AM SLT/PST.
All orientations will take place at Banned Books Week Town Square on ALA Island (205, 56, 61) - http://slurl.com/secondlife/ALA%20Island/205/56/61
Feel free to contact Valerie Hawkins by e-mail or send an IM to Second Life Avatar ALALibraryVal Miles with any questions.
