ISO18626 is an information exchange protocol that enables libraries to share transactional information about interlibrary loans. The protocol is currently in its 4th version, with completion tentatively scheduled for May 2027.
One area of focus requested by interlibrary loan practitioners relates to financial information. This includes tracking service/copyright costs, approving and negotiating those costs, and requesting payment for issues such as lost or damaged materials.
The ISO 18626 working group invites support organizations, consortia leads, and library practitioners to share their input on their use and needs of financial information in processing interlibrary lending transactions.
