Greetings, ACRL AI Discussion Group members!
Just a reminder that Ginny and I will be hosting our December Group Meetup on Tuesday, December 10th, from 3pm to 4pm EST. You can join the meeting at this zoom link, and I'll endeavor to add as many folks as possible to the invitation directly as well.
We'll be joined by special guests Jason Coleman (science librarian at KSU) and Keven Jeffery (systems librarian at SD State), co-chairs of the 12-member ACRL AI Competencies Task Force. Jason and Keven have shared the following agenda:
- Introduction to the AI Competencies Task Force
- Break-out discussions:
- What mindsets/dispositions should academic library workers adopt toward AI?
- What would you consider to be core AI competencies for library workers?
- Overview of the Task Force's work and results to-date
- Group poll about competencies
- Next steps and opportunities for further input
