If you support researchers or conduct research yourself, we invite you to learn more about the 9th Empirical Librarians Conference, where these two worlds come together. The conference features engaging sessions with practical takeaways on research skills for students, faculty, and librarians!

See our list of session abstracts to learn more, or register to attend for $50.

EmpLibs is a small conference  focused on the unique role of original research and original researchers within the broader information environment. It brings together librarians who conduct research and those who support it, creating a space to share ideas and insights about original research by both patrons and librarians. Presentations emphasize  practical "how to" approaches. Join us to hear what works, what presenters have learned, and how you can apply their insights for your own programs, projects, and research.

Attend the way that works best for you! EmpLibs 2026 will be a synchronous hybrid conference, with in-person participation in Clemson, SC, and synchronous virtual participation. All sessions will be simulcast, so attendees, whether onsite or online, will experience the same content at the same time. You may see presenting teams joining from Clemson, via Zoom, or a combination of both!

Registration is $50.00 for either virtual or onsite attendees
