Good Afternoon RIG,
RIG's Show & Share Committee is excited to announce that registration for the first RIG Show & Share Summer Event Series is now open!
As a reminder, the Show & Share was developed in response to Library Residents wanting a space to share their work and experiences among those who would value it. This series is also taking place among a notable shift marked by a decline in the number of residency programs available. This virtual gathering was designed to take the pulse of current and former residency efforts, document ongoing work, and capture a snapshot of library residency programs.
This virtual event series, scheduled from May-August, 2026, will provide a collaborative space for discussing research, projects, activities, and experiences of current and former resident librarians.
We are also excited to announce that Mark Puente, Associate Professor and the Associate Dean for Organizational Development at the Purdue University Libraries will be kicking off the series with a Keynote on Friday, May 29, 2026! Thank you to Virginia Tech Libraries for sponsoring and hosting this Keynote!
We hope you join us this summer to support RIG and more importantly the Residents that hold this group together during a challenging time period for our group.
