Posting on behalf of Alison Head. Thank you!
Hi everyone,
We are looking for two or three more US colleges or universities, public or private, which have undergraduate enrollments between 1,800 - 9,000 undergraduates to join our latest research study sample at
Project Information Literacy (PIL), the award-winning nonprofit, national research institute. Our latest study investigates climate change understanding - awareness, attitudes, and action - through the lens of information literacy. We will conduct two online surveys, one of the general public (N=3500) this fall and another survey of undergraduates (N=3500) early next year (2024) at eight US colleges and universities.
Here's a study FAQ.
Segmenting our sample to include college students will allow us to investigate the degree to which young adults are being prepared to effect change about the climate crisis. Each institution participating in our sample will receive a dataset of their student responses and a findings brief with recommendations. There is a $5,000 fee for study participation from each institution, which helps us cover operating costs.
Next spring (2024), we will publish our findings through an open access report, op-eds, essays, and podcasts for a variety of audiences in media, climate policy, and education. Our findings will inform advocacy at a time when collective action on the future of the planet is urgently needed. Our promotion and dissemination of deliverables will be enhanced by the project's affiliated supporter, The National Research Defense Council (NRDC).
