    Dear ESMIG members,

We're excited to be joining forces with the ACRL EBSS Evidence Synthesis Committee and invite you to an upcoming panel discussion about solo evidence synthesis service librarianship. We'll be joined by Elle Covington, University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Megan De Armond, Touro University Nevada; Anna Ferri, Colorado State University; and Julia Maxwell, Rutgers School of Communication, Information, and Media.

Our discussion will be framed by Julia's recent article:

    • Maxwell, J. A. (2025). Saying 'yes' and 'no:' developing and implementing a single-librarian social science evidence synthesis service. New Review of Academic Librarianship, 31(2), 210–223. https://doi.org/10.1080/13614533.2025.2466512

    Date: Tuesday, May 12, 2026

    Time: 1:00 - 2:00 EST / noon - 1:00 CST

    Zoom: https://go.unl.edu/esmig

Panelists will discuss the unique challenges and strategies of single-librarian ES service, including:

    • Managing the "snowball effect" of ES demand as a solo practitioner
    • Navigating requests and ensuring your contributions are visible
    • Working outside your liaison areas when you're the only ES librarian
    • Avoiding burnout and "vocational awe" in early-career and solo context

We're looking forward to this engaging discussion! Come ready to share your own strategies and learn from peers facing similar challenges.
