I am sharing info about this webinar that I received via email from Library Journals. While the focus seems to be on public libraries rather than academic, it may still be helpful for many here.
Presented by: Clarivate and Library Journal
Event Date and Time: Tuesday, January 27, 2026 | 11:00 AM ET / 8:00 AM PT
Accessibility and inclusion are foundational to how modern libraries serve their communities. As digital services, online resources, and technology solutions continue to shape patron experiences, libraries are increasingly challenged to ensure that disabled and impaired patrons can fully access and benefit from all offerings.
This session will explore how libraries are advancing accessibility in practice - from strategy and policy to real-world implementation and patron impact.
In this Library Journal–hosted webinar, library practitioners from North America and Sweden will share real stories from their organizations about supporting disabled and impaired patrons.
Panelists will discuss how accessibility priorities have evolved, how they navigate legal and policy expectations, and how tools such as VPATs (Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates) and Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) factor into conversations with vendors and technology partners.
The session will focus on practical lessons learned-what has worked, what has been challenging, and what libraries wish they had known earlier.
Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how accessibility can be approached incrementally, strategies for collaboration with vendors, and how real-world experiences can inform more inclusive library services.
Whether your library is beginning its accessibility journey or looking to deepen existing efforts, this discussion will provide both context and actionable takeaways.
