The Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC) is developing a program for linked data entities called Entity Management Cooperative (EMCO). WorldCat Entities (via OCLC Meridian) is one of the entity management registries supporting EMCO's work. Anne Washington and Misti Kane from the EMCO Early Adopters Phase will explain how Meridian is used for entity management of persons and discuss developing a WorldCat Entities community of practice.
If you are curious about why entity management is important for linked data or interested in seeing what description beyond the name authority file looks like, please join us for one of these sessions.
Session times:
Tuesday, 10 March at 10:00 am Eastern Daylight Time
or
Thursday, 19 March at 4:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time
The same content is provided at both sessions, and there will be time for questions at the end. Daylight savings time in the United States begins 8 March, so the UTC offset for these times will be -4:00.
Register here. When you register, you will receive an email reminder before your chosen session along with a link to the Webex event. All Virtual AskQC Office Hours are available from OCLC at no charge.
