Charge: To promote and develop competencies around evidence synthesis including systematic reviews, meta-analyses, scoping reviews, and other related methods of research synthesis, through activities such as: Facilitating discussion and peer-support; Creating and managing a resource page; Encouraging programming and publications around systematic reviews through ACRL.

    The University Libraries at Virginia Tech Residency Program is offering up to six (6) entry-level resident librarian positions to recent graduates of a master's degree program (in library/information sciences or in an academic discipline related to the strategic areas described) or to entry-level library, data, or information professionals. These residencies offer an intensive three-year program where residents work in one of six strategic areas and have the opportunity to explore aspects of professional work in an academic library. Residents will work closely with library faculty to develop skills and understanding of academic libraries. The individualized program will reflect the successful candidate's professional interests and long-term career goals.
    The six strategic areas include: (1) Data management and curation services, (2) Collections and outreach for the physical sciences, (3) Evidence synthesis, (4) Metadata services, (5) Open education, and (6) Publishing services.
    Starting salary is: $57,000 per year with the possibility of subsequent annual raises
    The review date is: July 11, 2022
