    Position Announcements: Allied Health Sciences Information Librarian and Dental Medicine and Cancer Librarian

    The Robert B. Greenblatt, M.D. Library of Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia seeks two service-focused, innovative, and collaborative librarians to support health sciences education, research, and patient care in the following areas:

    Allied Health Sciences Information Librarian

    This is a 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the initial rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. 

    Description: The Allied Health Sciences Librarian will work in a team-based environment to coordinate providing library services to the Health Sciences Campus with the primary focus of providing embedded library services to the College of Allied Health Sciences faculty, students, and staff. Services include supporting diverse instructional modalities, providing specialized research services, such as developing efficient search strategies and mediated database searching, and collaborating with faculty in selecting the library's collection materials. Additionally, the Allied Health Sciences Librarian will also participate in library, university, and professional initiatives through service, as well as actively contribute to the scholarship for the profession.

    Required Qualifications: Master's degree in library science from ALA accredited program OR receipt of degree by June 30, 2023, OR Masters of Public Health and relevant library experience

    Desirable Qualifications: one-year relevant professional experience (e.g., post-MLS experience or health sciences practice)

    Dental Medicine and Cancer Librarian

    This is a 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the initial rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. 

    Description: The Dental Medicine and Cancer Librarian will work in a team-based environment to coordinate providing library services to the Health Sciences Campus with the primary focus of providing embedded library services to the Dental College of Georgia and Augusta University Georgia Cancer Center faculty, students, and staff. Services include providing customized instruction both face-to-face and online, providing specialized research services, such as developing efficient search strategies and mediated database searching, and collaborating with faculty in selecting the library's collection materials. Additionally, the Dental Medicine and Cancer Librarian will also participate in library, university, and professional initiatives through service, as well as actively contribute to the scholarship for the profession.

    Required Qualifications: Master's degree in library science from an ALA accredited program OR receipt of degree by June 30, 2023

    Desirable Qualifications: One-year relevant professional experience (e.g., post-MLS experience or health sciences practice)
