    Saint Louis University (located in St. Louis, MO), a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care and service, is seeking applicants for the position of Catalog Librarian in the Collection Management Services Department of Pius XII Memorial Library. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Collection Management Services, the person in this position will work collaboratively with other Collection Management Services staff and faculty to support the teaching, learning, and research mission of Saint Louis University by providing efficient, thorough, and accurate access to the Library's holdings in a variety of formats and languages. The successful candidate will be professionally engaged, forward-thinking, detail-oriented, committed to equity and diversity, and demonstrate the ability to initiate and complete projects in a timely and independent manner.

    Rank: Assistant Professor, non-tenure track, 12-month appointment. 

    Salary/Benefits: Minimum salary $48,000.

    Characteristic Duties:

    • Perform tasks associated with cataloging, database maintenance and authority work
    • Serve as a resource regarding cataloging policies and practices 
    • Participate in the activities of the department, library, and university by serving on committees and planning teams, and performing other duties and projects as needed
    • Stay abreast of relevant trends, new products/tools, and professional practices and contribute to the profession

    Required Qualifications: 

    • Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library and information science program
    • Minimum of 1-2 years' relevant experience in a library or other cultural heritage institution or relevant cataloging/metadata coursework completed in LIS program
    • Reading or bibliographic knowledge of German, Italian, Spanish, and/or French
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with all levels of staff
    • Demonstrated interest in professional development
    • Demonstrated service orientation
    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with an integrated library system such as Innovative Interfaces' Sierra (preferably cataloging and/or acquisitions modules)
    • Familiarity with MARC21, AACR2R, RDA, Library of Congress Subject Headings, and Library of Congress Classification
    • Familiarity with tools such as OCLC Connexion and/or WorldShare, RDA Toolkit, Cataloger's Desktop, and Classification Web
    • Familiarity with the NAF (National Authority File) and the creation of name authority records
    • Experience using collaborative and office productivity tools such as Google Drive, MS Office, etc.
