Our new Library Dean is committed to building a culture of opportunity and inclusive excellence, collaborative leadership and transparency, student success, and advancing antiracism and DEI through library collections and services. To that end, we are inviting applications for the role of Associate Dean for Access, Instruction, and Research (ADAIR) to join our vibrant team.

    Reporting to the Library Dean, the ADAIR provides leadership, advocacy, and direction for the functional areas of Reference & Research Services, Access Services, and Library Instruction & Outreach. Along with the Library Dean and the Associate Dean for Collection Services (ADCS), the ADAIR is a member of the library cabinet and the Library Leadership Team (LLT) which consists of library cabinet, the 5 library department heads (Reference & Access Services, Instruction & Outreach, Special Collections & University Archives, Electronic Resources & Systems, and Metadata & Collection Management), and the Assistant to the Dean & Business Manager.

    In partnership and collaboration with the Library Dean, the ADCS, and the LLT, the ADAIR shares in the responsibilities for strategic planning, general administrative decision-making, resource management, assessment, priority-setting, and development of policies for library operations. This position is an essential participant in the shared governance systems within the library and provides leadership in building a culture of innovation, collaboration, engagement and accountability to develop, promote and implement Gleeson Library|Geschke Center priorities. This position contributes to comprehensive, library-wide budget and fiscal reporting needs and assists the dean in coordinating the work of the library business manager.
