Sarasota University, an accredited non-profit institution, is seeking a contractor to serve as the sole, part-time University Librarian. Sarasota University (SU) is a tiny, boutique organization which offers online-only graduate education in Montessori education. As SU has a virtual campus with fewer than fifty students, this role will require an average of less than 5 hours a month. The library currently offers services through LIRN.
Responsibilities include:
1) helping the university to select, acquire, and provide access to digital resources
2) serving as the librarian of record for accrediting bodies
3) assisting the students to navigate digital resources, if needed
4) assisting the university as it grows with strategically meeting students' research needs.
The University Librarian will work remotely according to their own schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires an MLS, M.L.I.S. or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program.
