    Dear Universal Accessibility Interest Group,

My name is Hyun Seung Lee, and I am a PhD candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I am reaching out to invite the community members to participate in a research study on assessing and improving the accessibility and usability of digital libraries for blind and visually impaired users in mobile environments.

People chosen as study participants will be invited to complete an electronic survey soliciting input and feedback on these design guidelines. Participation may take between two to four hours at a time convenient to the participant. Participants will first be asked to review the guidelines and then rate the guidelines based on various criteria, in addition to providing feedback and recommendations for improvement. Upon completion of the study, each participant will receive a $100 gift card as a token of appreciation.

For more information about the survey, the flyer regarding this study is attached to this discussion.

We are looking for two groups of participants.

    1) If you are interested in participating and you are:

    • A digital library (DL) developer who has been in charge of DL development for at least three years
    • Or are involved in different aspects of DL development and management, who have worked on DLs for at least three years

Please complete the DL developer screening questionnaire and consent form.

    2) If you are interested in participating and you are:

    • a scholar who has conducted research on accessibility, usability, and/or utility of information systems or digital libraries for at least three years
    • Or an expert who has conducted accessibility or usability tests to support the needs of blind and visually impaired users for at least three years?

Please complete the scholar and expert screening questionnaire and consent form.

Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me at lee649@uwm.edu. When reaching out, please reference the project title:
"Assessment of the Mobile Digital Library Accessibility and Usability Guidelines (mDLAUG)" (IRB#: 25.128) in the subject line.

    Thank you.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day, and thank you for your interest.

    Sincerely,

    Hyun Seung Lee
