  • 1.  Invitation: Rebuilding Community in the ACRL Diversity Alliance

    Hi all,


    At the beginning of the 2023-2024 ALA FY (September 1, 2023), the ACRL Diversity Alliance (DA) moved from management by an ACRL Task Force to an ongoing ACRL division-level committee.This year the ACRL Diversity Alliance Committee is focused on rebuilding community amongst Alliance member coordinators. 


    We are hosting an open conversation for all DA institutional coordinators onTuesday, April 16th from 4-5 ET (3-4 CT, 2-3 MT, 1-2 PT) to start this conversation. If your institution has rejoined the DA for 2024, is planning to rejoin, or is interested in more information about what this membership might mean, we would love to have representation from your institution at our inaugural discussion. 


    If you are a resident or fellow, please send this along to your coordinator.


    At this meeting, we will review what membership in the DA means and what it can look like. At this meeting, we will: 

    • Introduce you to the DA Committee and our goals for our inaugural year.

    • Pose questions to participants regarding their institutional plans and commitments at this point in time.

    • Explore what conversations and actions would be valuable to DA members in light of the current climate of anti-DEI legislation being experienced in many states and budget challenges in others.

    • Restart the DA coordinator community.
